Live your Life in Color

Fridays’ posts have kind of been the “wild card” on My Loquacity lately, and I have been loving that I have an outlet to share my opinions and personal struggles.Today, I am writing about a light-hearted topic, that I’ve been becoming more aware of over the past few weeks. I hope this post ends up being relatable.

I have never been the type that dresses very “trendy”. I clearly don’t have bad taste in clothes, but I am definitely more of a classic dresser. I wear clean, simple, outfits, and a lot of the pieces I own are very colorful. I never have felt weird about this, and have remained confident in my personal style throughout my years in college.

When it comes to going out, however, I have found the need to dress differently so i don’t look weird. I am not a huge fan of wearing the color black, but I have been finding myself buying going out shirts in black because I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to. I see a lot of girls rocking the trends, but what they’re wearing isn’t my style, so why am I trying to dress like them?

I’m not saying to go strut your stuff in the frats in a Lilly Romper, because there is a time and place for that, but wear what makes you happy, not what is on trend. Your kids are going to look back on all of your outfits when you’re old and make fun of you anyway, so you might as well be able to defend yourself when they do.

Stick to your personal style, and you will always feel your best. The better you feel, the happier you are, and the more fun you’ll have. This may have been a shorter post, and most of my Friday posts are, but this is just a little something for everyone to think about over their weekends! Live your life in color, ladies!

As always, let me know what you thought of this post in the comment section below. I love hearing feedback, so please don’t hesitate! Thank you for supporting My Loquacity, it truly does mean the world to me.
